What's involved?

This webinar format is designed to simulate our two day classroom course. Your live video tutor will guide you through the course content, facilitating activities with your peers and preparing you for the course assessments.

Unit 1 is the theoretical unit that looks at the principles of assessing. You will complete a work pack for this unit over the two days with various questions and tasks. We make the course as interactive as possible with lots of group activities and interaction with your peers.

During the two days your tutor will also prepare you for completing your practical assessments for Units 2 and 3. You will need to complete four workplace assessments for Unit 2 and four vocational assessments for Unit 3.

After the two webinar days you will be given three months to complete the eight assessments. One of these assessments will need to be observed by a qualified assessor.

What you get out of it

Upon successful completion of the course you will achieve a nationally accredited assessing qualification, the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF). The qualification and certificate is exactly the same as what you would achieve on our classroom course.

The purpose of the course is to teach you the knowledge and skills to become a competent assessor within your own industry.

Who's it for?

The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is for candidates that wish to assess people within their own industry and subject specialism. It covers assessing in both the work environment and vocational training environment.

Examples of industries with a high demand for qualified assessors are:
  • childcare
  • hair and beauty
  • construction
  • hospitality
  • health and social
  • sport and leisure
  • education

What will I learn?

You will learn how to plan, carry out and evaluate effective assessments. This will include the key principles of assessing and the various assessment methods available.

The practical assessments will develop you as an assessor and will highlight your strengths and areas for development. By the end of the course you will be fully qualified to assess in both the work and vocational setting.
