The Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) is a nationally recognised teaching assistant qualification.

The course provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to work in a teaching assistant role in schools or colleges.

About this course

The Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is an Ofqual regulated teaching assistant qualification. 

There are four mandatory units:
1) Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
2) Schools as organisations
3) Understand child and young person development
4) Understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and your people

The course is assessed via a practical portfolio of evidence that includes a reflective journal, teaching assistant handbook, written assessment and case studies. 

Learners must also be observed live in their supporting role and carry out a summative professional discussion.
