What's involved

Candidates can expect an informal and relaxed set up, hosted by an experienced first aider. An emphasis is placed on demonstrating each practical skill and then allowing candidates time to master them.

Candidates work in small groups, practising on real life dummies and each other, with the full support from the instructor. There is also a chance to field questions and debate / share experiences amongst each other.

The aim is to allow candidates to leave the course with the confidence to preserve life, prevent a condition from worsening and promote recovery prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

What you get out of it

The course is fast paced, informative and fun. On completion candidates are awarded the Paediatric First Aid (6 Hour) Certificate which proves an ability to deal with a child who is injured, unconscious, non breathing or choking.

The qualification is valid for three years and can be used towards the Voluntary Ofsted Childcare Register.
