Mental Health Awareness (Half Day) - In House

The Mental Health Awareness Course introduces the concept that mental health affects everybody on a continuum. It looks at life events, risk factors and the main types of mental ill health that affect the workforce.

Candidates leave the course with newfound knowledge to assist their colleagues and their own mental health well being.

What's involved?

The four hour course looks to introduce the topic of mental health to the workforce and remove any stigma associated with the term. The course progresses onto the signs & symptoms of the different mental ill health conditions, and the benefits and limitations when diagnosing them.

Candidates can expect to receive lectures, debate, watch videos and complete written activities. The course is assessed through an open-response learner workbook.

What you get out of it

Candidates receive a nationally recognised certificate on successful completion of this course. Demonstrating competence in the field of mental health first aid awareness, which can be used to help colleagues at work.

Alongside certification they will be able to apply newfound knowledge when coming across an individual with mental ill health, and have more confidence when dealing with the situation.
