What's involved?

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is taught over a three month period. Each month there is two classroom days covering the theoretical elements of the course and setting learners an action plan to follow. Learners are required to plan, deliver and evaluate 30 hours of teaching. In addition their tutor will observe them on three occasions in their current teaching role, providing them with clear guidance and areas for development.

The qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria. All learners are expected to prove both their theoretical and practical knowledge within their portfolio of evidence.

What you get out of it

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training allows learners to put into practice the skills they learn in the classroom environment to their real life teaching role. The course investigates what makes a good teacher and the skills and techniques required to get the most from your students. Candidates are then visited on three separate occasions and assessed in their current teaching role, giving them constructive feedback for future practice.

Upon successful completion learners many wish to progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
