Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement - Online

The Online Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is designed for candidates that assess in a vocational/training setting. This is away from the work environment and could be in a classroom, training room or a scenario setting.

What's involved?

Unit 1 is the theoretical unit and our electronic resources will guide you through the written assessment step by step. You will receive a written assessment template, the Ann Gravells accompanying course textbook and audio guidance for each criteria. 

The second unit is the practical element of the course. You will need to carry out four vocational assessments using a range of assessment methods. Vocational assessments are in a training setting and include assignments, written questions, practical scenarios and skills tests. One of your assessments will need to be observed by a qualified assessor. 

What you get out of it

You will achieve a nationally accredited (RQF) and Ofqual stamped assessing qualification. It will enable you to assess within a vocational setting, which includes a school/college setting and private training environment.

You also have the option of completing the workplace assessing unit at a later date to achieve the full Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

Who's it for?

This course is designed for anyone assessing in a vocational environment. You will be assessing people in a training/teaching environment, as opposed to a live workplace setting.

What will I learn?

There are two units:

Unit 1 looks at the principles and practices of assessing. You will learn how to plan assessments, analyse the effectiveness of various assessment methods and how to provide constructive feedback.

Unit 3 requires you to carry out four vocational assessments, assessing at least two candidates. You will need use a minimum of three different assessment methods overall. You will learner to carry out initial assessments on your candidates, plan suitable assessments for them and to practically assess them in a reliable and valid manner.
