The Education and Training courses are on a pathway which consist of the Level 3 Award, Level 4 Certificate and Level 5 Diploma. Sometimes this can seem confusing so hopefully answering some frequently asked questions will help prospective candidates.
The Level 4 Certificate is a reflective practice course. It is designed for a current practitioner within teaching who is looking to develop their skills. The level 3 Award is an entry level qualification for prospective teachers / trainers who firstly need to learn the basics of delivering effective lessons.
The main prerequisite of the Level 4 Certificate Course is that you already have a teaching position or about to start one. If not it is recommended to gain some grounding by completing the Level 3 Award Course which will hopefully lead to opportunities within a teaching role.
30 hours of teaching needs to be logged which is supported by lesson plans and schemes of work.
The course is assessed by written answers, teaching logs, observations and portfolio based evidence. It all leads to the nationally accredited Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (QCF), with the possibility to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma.
Many of our candidates have used their qualifications towards a career in teaching within colleges and schools.
